 BirdLife and Black Cockatoos

Monday, January 25, 2016

The Summer 2015/2016 edition of Cocky Notes, our twice-yearly newsletter, is out and can be downloaded from

birdlife.org.au/projects/southwest-black-cockatoo-recovery/publications-and-forms.

It summarises the great work our dedicated volunteers contributed to, including record participation in the Great Cocky Count and another season of thorough breeding range surveys.

We have many exciting things planned for 2016 and hope that you can continue to be a part of them. Registrations will be opening soon for the 2016 Great Cocky Count, to be held on Sunday 3rd April 2016, so we look forward to your assistance. In the meantime, we love hearing what these magnificent birds are up to, so please continue to share your stories and sightings with us.

Should you wish to no longer receive updates on the Southwest Black-Cockatoo Recovery Program, please let us know.
