EMU ON THE RUN IN USA!!

An emu who lives in an American shelter has escaped! Sassy, has been spotted several times in cornfields nearby the shelter however continues to elude capture.

She escaped the animal shelter after a fight with a dog. There are 25 emus cared for in the Central Illinois Small Animal Rescue.

A spokesman from the San Diego Zoo has reassured Americans that the emu is accustomed to people interaction and is friendly, however is likely to be frightened. Emu’s make a hissing sound when on the defensive.

The omnivore has small teeth, and eats leaves and insects in the wild. The bird can kick forward and has a deep, booming song.
